Our dry e-file technique cleans the cuticle area completely, so gel sits flush to the skin and grows out gracefully for three to four weeks. It is the service our Wicker Park studio is known for.

A classic salon manicure softens the skin in water, pushes the cuticle back and trims what it can reach. The Russian technique works dry. Using a fine, sterile e-file bit, your technician lifts the cuticle and removes the thin layer of non-living tissue that clings to the nail plate, then refines the sidewalls by hand.
The result is a nail plate that is clean all the way to the skin. Gel can be applied closer to the cuticle line and bonds more evenly, which is why the finish looks sharper on day one and still looks neat on day twenty-one.
For medium and long natural nails we add a structured gel layer with a gentle apex: the reinforcement that stops breaks and keeps the surface perfectly even.
Clean prep and precise application mean less lifting at the base. Most clients comfortably reach three to four weeks.
Because color starts right at the cuticle line, new growth appears gradually instead of as a sharp gap.
Structured gel and hard gel overlays protect thin or bendy nails while they grow.
We look at your nails, agree on shape and shade, and remove old gel with an e-file, never by prying or peeling.
The cuticle is lifted and cleaned with sterile bits, then finished with precise nippers only where needed.
A thin base, an apex layer for structured sets, then color applied flush to the cuticle line.
Edges are capped, the top coat is cured and cuticles are finished with nourishing oil.

A dry manicure performed with a fine electric file instead of soaking and trimming. It cleans the cuticle area completely so gel can be applied close to the skin, which makes the manicure look sharper and last longer.
Most clients wear it beautifully for three to four weeks. Your natural growth rate and how you use your hands make the biggest difference.
Yes, when it is performed by a trained technician with sterile tools. We remove only non-living tissue, use sterilized bits and single-use files, and adjust the technique for sensitive skin.
Short nails do perfectly with a regular gel manicure. If your nails are medium or long, or tend to bend and break, a structured gel layer protects them while they grow.
Every three to four weeks keeps the shape balanced and the cuticle area tidy. Booking your next visit before you leave is the easiest way to keep your preferred time.
